    Important: California Climate Intelligence uses artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. All outputs must be independently verified before being relied upon for any purpose. This service does not constitute professional, legal, scientific, engineering, or regulatory advice.
  

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using California Climate Intelligence (the "Service") — including via WhatsApp or the web interface — you ("User") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Nature of the Service

California Climate Intelligence is an AI-powered information service that retrieves and synthesizes content from a corpus of California climate-related documents. The Service is provided for general informational and research purposes only.

The Service does not provide:

Professional, legal, regulatory, engineering, or scientific advice
Official guidance from any government agency or regulatory body
Site-specific risk assessments or hazard determinations
Investment, insurance, or financial advice

Nothing in any response generated by the Service should be construed as a substitute for consultation with a qualified professional.

3. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Responses are generated by artificial intelligence and retrieved from source documents. Despite referencing source materials, the Service may:

Produce inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information
Fail to reflect the most current data, regulations, or scientific consensus
Misinterpret, misattribute, or misquote source documents
Omit relevant information present in the source corpus

You are solely responsible for independently verifying any information before acting on it. Always consult primary sources and qualified professionals for decisions that may affect health, safety, property, or legal rights.

4. No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CALIFORNIA CLIMATE INTELLIGENCE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any information provided will be accurate or reliable.

5. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CALIFORNIA CLIMATE INTELLIGENCE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND LICENSORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Reliance on any AI-generated response or cited information
Decisions made based on Service outputs
Loss of data, revenue, profits, or business opportunities
Property damage or personal injury
Service interruptions or errors

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY YOU IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) FIFTY DOLLARS (USD $50).

6. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless California Climate Intelligence and its owners, operators, directors, employees, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in connection with:

Your use of or access to the Service
Your reliance on any AI-generated content or information provided by the Service
Any decisions, actions, or omissions you take based on Service outputs
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right
Any claim that your use of the Service caused damage to a third party

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

Transmit unlawful, harmful, or abusive content
Attempt to circumvent quota limits or security controls
Resell or redistribute Service outputs without authorization
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
Represent AI-generated outputs as official government or regulatory guidance

8. Subscriptions and Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly and may be cancelled at any time via the billing portal. Refunds are not provided for partial months. We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice.

9. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California.
